About Us
A Letter from the President
I want to take a little time to introduce the Greater Bristol Branch N.A.A.C.P. We are a nonpartisan civil rights, social justice organization that tends to the needs of the undervalued, underestimated and marginalized.
The Bristol Branch serves the cities and towns of Bristol, Burlington, Harwinton, Plainville, Plymouth and Southington. Our organization prides itself in seeing the betterment of the greater Bristol area we call home, not just for those within our own families, but for the community as a whole. That means our involvement in our community depends on your involvement in our community.
We encourage you to take a stand and get involved! If you believe your involvement will not make a difference, we are here to tell you that you could not be further from the truth. Your voice and your involvement are so important. Vote for those candidates that are closest to your beliefs. Run for an office that you believe you can make a difference in. Challenge systems that directly affect your way of living and learning. Encourage those who believe they are not worthy that they are worthy of having a voice and to have it be heard. Contribute your time to local organizations you believe will seek change you want to see. You always have an open invitation to join us to campaign for political and social change.
Sidenote…There are several important elections coming in the near future. If you have not registered to vote, do so as soon as possible. Also, be aware of where you vote because there may have been changes made in your district.
Your involvement is priceless!
Sincerely,
Tim Camerl, Sr.
