Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Reverend Dr. Eddie C. Whitehead of Bristol Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in 2021 by the Greater Bristol Branch of the NAACP as part of the chapter’s goal of achieving equality through educational opportunities. The scholarship is named in memory of two trailblazers: Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; and Reverend Dr. Eddie C. Whitehead, a Bristol resident who was a community leader and one of the many community members and pastors who spearheaded the establishment of the Bristol NAACP back in 1985. An annual scholarship will be available to graduating high school seniors from Bristol, Burlington, Harwinton, Plainville, Plymouth, and Southington who are pursuing higher education at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical institution.

Donations to the Scholarship Fund can be made through the Main Street Community Foundation.
